Did you know that

There is still no official definition for the word:Fucoidan?

Fucoidan is a particular slimy constituent that is found in brown algae such as Kombu(Laminaria japonica), Wakame (Mekabu-Undaria pinnatifida) and CladosiphonMozuku( okamuranus). Unfortunately, up until today, fucoidan does not have an official definition from a well-known global organization or research institute. This is in part, what makes it difficult for customers to distinguish a great Fucoidan brand from many products in the world. It becomes complex to define fucoidan because of its bioactivity, molecular structure and specially the differences in composition that become present from species to species.

1.How can you select "HIGH PURITY & BEST QUALITY" Fucoidan?

* Since there is no official definition for Fucoidan, it is hard to identify standardized Fucoidan purity measurements.
* However, from the industry perspective, the chemical compositions of fucoidans are complex and the sulfation at special positions can determine their bioactivity and mechanism of action.
* UMI NO SHIZUKU has more than 85% of purity when measuring its levels of L-fucose and sulfated groups

2.Is a higher % of sulfated fucose-galactose content in Fucoidan better?

* As explained nobody can define Fucoidan precisely. Some structures of fucoidan have been identified, but when two species are mixed, a new structure forms. Therefore, specifying a Fucoidan molecule becomes a complex task.
* It could be the presence of L-fucose itself, fucose-galactose branching, or sulfated ester groups, and other unknown compounds bonded to Fucose what defines it, but the reality is that it is not enough.
* In more that ten years of experience, we have observed that L-Fucose, sulfated ester groups and the fucose-galactose branching and other compounds bonded with Fucose seem to work together in a very complex, but unique way.
* In this regard, measuring purity of only Fucose and sulfated ester groups would not be the right way to differentiate between good and bad quality and effective products.

Then..... What is the criteria when selecting the best Fucoidan?

3.Types of Brown Seaweed and its Freshness

* It is known that different brown seaweeds have unique molecular structures, therefore each Fucoidan has different level of efficacy in general.
* In this regard, most of fucoidan products in the market have different Fucoidan content; price and efficacy is different based on Fucoidan content.
* UMI NO SHIZUKU contains the proprietary mix of the best fresh Okinawa Mozuku (Cladosiphon okamuranus) and Mekabu (Undaria pinnatifida) based Fucoidan. Not to mention, That these two species have the highest levels of L-fucose, galactose and sulfated ester groups!

4.Fucoidan content in our products

* Fucoidan dosage varies depending on your general healths and sense of well-being, so it is very important to know how much Fucoidan is included in the product.
* UMI NO SHIZUKU Fucoidan has 212.5mg of high purity Fucoidan (85%) per capsule (250mg) and about the balance 15% of the capsule is Agaricus mycelium extract that enhances immune system more along with Fucoidan.

5.Global Recognition & Reputation

* If the Fucoidan brand is recognized globally the quality of the product wouldnŽ≠™ be disappointing you. Umi No Shizuku won the Gold Medal of Monde Selection Award in 2006. It is the first and only fucoidan supplement product winning this title.
* It is possible to extract pes of seaweeds. Recently there are many Fucoidan brands in the world; however, it is rare to see an individual Fucoidan brand selling globally. UMI NO SHIZUKU Fucoidan was introduced in 2001 in Japan and have been sold to tens of thousands of customers in more than 25 countries including U.S.A, Canada, Korea, H.K, Taiwan Singapore, Europe, Latin America, etc.
