Enjoy the Holiday season with a Turkey Dinner

Enjoy the Holiday season with a Turkey Dinner!

The holiday season is here, and I hope you enjoy Turkey dinner with your loved ones and friends. According to Dr. Cynthis Sass, Turkey is rich in Vitamin B and minerals, including a sign of selenium as an antioxidant. As for vitamin B, Turkey contains B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, folic acid, biotin, and choline. Turkey is the richest in selenium, providing over 60% of DRI in a single 4-ounce serving. Zinc, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and iron are also offered in remarkable amounts from this food.

And you should better choose pasture-raised Turkey that means birds are allowed time to forage outdoors; also, sun exposure and a more diverse and natural diet increase the levels of nutrients, including anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. Also, the important thing is to choose organic Turkey, which is antibiotic-free. The reason to recommend selecting organic Turkey is that approximately 80% of the antibiotics sold in the United States are used in livestock, which is a practice that contributes to antibiotic resistance. Drug-resistant bacteria are problematic in many ways, but they can also contaminate food after slaughter and spread to other farms.

Because you can enjoy obtaining all turkey cuts that contain omega-3 fats, however, turkey omega-3 content varies greatly depending on the turkey diet. One of the reasons we recommend grass-fed turkeys is that you can get the nourishment of both plants and insects, including omega-3s, in natural pastures. Do not forget to add an excellent plant-based alternative, consider adding such as lentils, beans, peas, and chickpeas. You can make loaf-type dishes, hearty soups, and cook with garlic and herbs. Beans are naturally gluten-free and, in addition to being an excellent source of vegetable protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Additionally, beans support weight management, reduce waist measurements, and it has been shown to help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, and certain cancers.

Kamerycah is grateful for everyone’s safety and enjoyment for the Holiday season; however, it is essential to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, please follow at least the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) suggestion.

Wear a mask when interacting with other people

Attending an event or gathering

  • Check with the organizer or event venue for updated information about any COVID-19 safety guidelines and if they have steps in place to prevent the spread of the virus.
  • Prioritize attending outdoor activities over indoor activities and stay within your local area as much as possible.
  • Host your gathering outdoors, when possible. If this is not feasible, make sure the room or space is well-ventilated (for example, open a window).
  • Bring supplies to help you and others stay healthy—for example, masks (bring extra), hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, and drinking water.
  • Use social distancing and limit physical contact: Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet or more from people who don’t live in your household.
  • Wear a mask when interacting with other people to minimize the risk of transmitting the virus. Wearing masks is most important when social distancing is difficult.
  • Use disposable food service items, including utensils and dishes, if available.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer immediately before eating food or after touching any joint surfaces like hand railings, payment kiosks, door handles, and toilets.

We wish everyone an enjoyable and safe Holiday season!
